The display mode of volume and sales on main display board adopt 6 digits liquid crystal display (Model ED-139, see Diagram 3-11), PPU or unit price r digits LCD (Model ED-830, see Diagram 3-12). Diagram 3-9: Static circuit and wave of LCD tube Diagram 3-10: Drive circu fuel dispenser it of one-digit tube Diagram 3-11: ED-139 6-digit LCD Diagram 3-12: ED-830 4-digit LCD Display drive chip often adopts 8-digit memory/flip-latch: 74HC95. The drive circuit of liquid crystal display is composed of double D trigger 74HC74 and double input exclusive-OR gate 74HC86. Some fuel dispensers adopt special crystal drive circuit in liquid crystal display, its principle basically similar to 74 series LCD drive circuit. A few fuel dispenser manufacturers adopt light-emitting diode (LED) as display components of display board because its cost is low and need not backlight in evening. The defect of this display component is bad display effect, es fuel dispenser pecially under extensive sunlight, and much electricity consumption. LED display drive circuit also has parallel and serial drive, similar to LCD display drive circuit in terms of structure. Very few fuel dispensers adopt matrix or color liquid crystal display, showing much information. However, it largely increases cost. 2.4 Power supply Stable voltage power supply used in explosion-proof fuel dispenser Most of fuel dispensers adopt explosion-proof type, installing liner stable voltage power supply or switch voltage power supply. Switch voltage stabilizing power supply includes power transformer, DC/DC converter, 220V direct commute and pulse transformer, illustrated in Diagram 3-14 and 3-15. Due to cost-efficient and s fuel dispenser imple design, liner stable voltage power is widely adopted. However, it is affected by exterior network voltage. Although pulse transformer is able to tackle with network voltage fluctuation, it is can’t afford because of complicated technology, expensive cost and difficult to maintenance. In recent years, D

ia industry will look like in future because of the way the internet and other digital technologies are altering things—hence it would be premature to start ditching key assets now. Separating AOL from Time Warner s film, television and publishing divisions, just as rival content companies are rushing to build audiences on the fuel dispenser internet, would also be a mistake, some analysts reckon. Nonetheless, says Peter Kreisky, a media consultant, “Icahn delivered a healthy jolt to Time Warner, and got it out of a rut.During his campaign, Mr Parsons promoted Jeff Bewkes, the man who built HBO, its pay-TV business, to be heir-apparent, signalling that Time Warner has plenty of energy and talent at the top. In December Time Warner struck a deal with Google, which agreed to pay $1 billion for 5% of AOL, to which many analysts once ascribed a value of approximately zero. A short while earlier, Steve Case, the man who persuaded Time Warner to merge with AOL, resigned from the board, sati fuel dispenser sfying another of Mr Icahn s complaints. A big reason why Time Warner s shares have languished is that investors are frightened that all of the traditional media will be swept aside by new technology. Shares in its competitors have also performed badly. The most pressing job now for Mr Parsons and Mr Bewkes is to position Time Warner to cope with the internet. The firm s recent dose of shareholder activism should have fortified it for the task. © 2006 .
